Your existing client agreement likely already addresses scope of services, fees, confidentiality, and your use of third-party tools. The language below covers two specific topics that AI-assisted advisory services introduce and that most existing agreements don't address. Use either or both as appropriate. Adapt the language to fit your practice. Placeholders in [brackets] should be replaced with your specific information.

1. AI-Assisted Advisory Services

Informs clients that AI tools generate observations and outputs in support of advisory work, and that the advisor's professional judgment remains the basis for all recommendations. This language protects the advisor from any claim that AI-generated outputs constituted independent professional advice.

Suggested Language

Our advisory services are supported by AI-enabled tools that assist with academic planning, assessment interpretation, progress tracking, and session documentation. These tools generate data-derived analytical indicators, including observations, educational planning recommendations, and session summaries, to support our work together.

AI-generated outputs are not clinical assessments, psychological evaluations, or diagnoses of any kind, and do not constitute independent professional determinations. All recommendations and advisory decisions are made by [Advisor Name] based on professional judgment. AI-generated outputs may contain errors or omissions and are independently reviewed by your advisor before being applied to your individual circumstances.

2. Voice Session Recording

Conditional — include if advisory sessions are recorded. Explicit consent to recording is legally required in many states. Select the option that applies to your practice.

Option A — Platform-Facilitated Recording

Advisory sessions conducted through our voice-enabled advisory platform may be recorded. You will be notified automatically at the start of any recorded session. Recordings are used to generate session transcripts and summaries. You consent to the recording of advisory sessions as described above.

Option B — Advisor-Facilitated Recording

Advisory sessions may be recorded by [Advisor Name] using [Recording Tool]. You will be notified before any session is recorded. Recordings are used for [Purpose] and are retained for [Retention Period]. You consent to the recording of advisory sessions by [Advisor Name] as described above.
